IIOM is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.

This privacy policy explains how we use the information we collect about you, how you can instruct us if you prefer to limitthe use of that information, and procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy.

 

 

About us

 

IIOM is a member-based ‘not-for-profit` international institution which aims to promote the best interests of its members andto improve and disseminate knowledge and techniques used in Obsolescence Management, carry out training in Obsolescence Management and authorize the “standard” of that training. To enable us to achieve this, we hold informationabout our members, this information is used to keep our members up-to-date with International and local Chapter developments. Part of this information flow uses the IIOM web site, by using our website or providing us with your personalinformation you are agreeing to this policy.

This Privacy Policy only relates to personal information including such things as attendees, presenters, sponsors, andvendors at our events, membership details and qualifications details which are collected by us:

  • name
  • contact information including email address
  • job title
  • IIOM membership details and its networks including, committees, panels, awards.
  • information relevant to direct marketing/surveys/offers/events/feedback
  • registering for IIOM events
  • phoning us
  • writing to us
  • sending us an email

 

The information we collect and how we use it

 

When you attend our events we may need to know your name, postal address, email address and telephone number.
We may also wish to provide you with information about events we think may be of interest to you, and a newsletter on anominally quarterly basis.
We gather information to allow us to process your membership registration.
If you become an IIOM committee/panel member, your contact details (name and email address) may be seen by othermembers on the same committee/panel or on other committees or panels.
With the permission of the presenter concerned, presentations given at IIOM events are uploaded to the IIOM websites. The presenter’s personal details, or any other section/s of the presentation, can be withheld from the version uploaded if requested.Presentations can also be removed from the websites at a later date, if the presenter wants to do so.

Photography may be taken at IIOM events and you will be notified of this in advance, these photographs may be used on the IIOM website or within IIOM publications.
If you do not wish to be photographed please notify the event organiser prior to the event.

 

IT Companies

 

IIOM works with businesses that support our website and other business systems, although these companies are not usually notified in our literature there identity can be divulged if required.

 

Links to other websites

 

Our website contains links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protectionand privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacystatement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

The Internet is not a secure medium. Please be aware that communications over the Internet, such as emails/ webmailsare not secure unless they have been encrypted. Your communications may route through a number of countries beforebeing delivered – this is the nature of the World Wide Web/ Internet. We cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorisedaccess or loss of personal information that is beyond our control.

All of our data processors that have access to, and are associated with, the processing of your personal information areobliged to respect the confidentiality of our visitors’ information.

 

Updating your details

 

If any of the information that you have provided to the IIOM, for example if you change your email address, name or postaladdress, or if you wish to cancel your registration, please let us know the correct details by sending an email toadmin@theiiom.org.

 

How long we keep your information

 

If you resign/withdraw your Membership your details are kept for 2 years. After that period your details are deleted safely.

 

Consent

 

By giving us your personal information, you consent to us collecting and using that information in the ways that we describein this privacy policy and / or that you have specifically consented to. Where we need your consent, we will always ensurethat you are as fully informed as possible at the time on what we do with your information, with whom it may be shared andhow long we will keep it. This is in line with the requirements of the relevant legislation. You can alter your preferences orwithdraw your consent at any time as described below.
