About Us

Strategic Alliances

On behalf of all IIOM Chapters, IIOM International is a Professional Affiliate of the UK Engineering Council.  The Council gives us a framework for initial and continuing professional development, codes of conduct, ethical standards, and recognition of achievements to which IIOM Chapters and their members subscribe, see  https://www.engc.org.uk/

IIOM is a member of the Foundation for Science and Technology, which provides an impartial platform for debate of policy issues that have a science, research, technology or innovation element. The Foundation provides assurance that our legal structures and governance remain best-placed to support global expansion and founding of new Chapters, and guides us in developing learned society activities such as IIOM’s International Conference, Members’ Meetings, and participation in standards organizations, see https://www.foundation.org.uk/
IIOM are active members of the two MOD led industry/government forums.
These are the JOMWG (Joint Obsolescence Management Working Group) and CAWG (Counterfeit Avoidance Working Group) Both groups have been influential in establishing best practice guidance and standards for use by the Defence Community.

International Standards Bodies

IIOM and its members have led the development of international standards on Obsolescence Management (OM see IEC.ch/TC56 MT20 for current developments) and for related sector standards DMSMS see SAE.org. The ADHP sector standards (IEC.ch/TC107) for both technology management and counterfeit prevention refer to Obsolescence Management. All these IEC Management Plan standards have been adopted by National Standards bodies worldwide. Also, the IECQ.org continues to develop Capability Assessment Schemes of which one is for the ADHP industries. (ADHP Aerospace Defence and High Performance.)
